Need your prayers!
My husband's lung cancer has taken a turn for the worse. I would deeply appreciate any and all prayers for him! He's using his nebulizer every 2 hours and is on Prednisone and Morphine. We get up two to three times a night since he is gasping for breath and needs to use his nebulizer. He gets breathless just walking down the hall. He was in the ER two weeks ago. We don't have hospice yet but may have to eventually. I don't know what they could do. I'm doing everything. However, a doctor would come to our home since Ed isn't well enough to go to the doctor's office.
I know that God is in control and always has been. Everything is in God's time. We pray often. We both know that we'll be in Heaven together in the future.
Thank you so much for your prayers!

How nice of you! Thank you! We know God is there for us and lately, we've had quite a few prayers answered regarding this situation. We did get Hospice resources from both the doctor and the Fire Dept. We will use them when it becomes necessary. Until then, it's just me and my husband. Ours is a second marriage. I haven't seen or heard from my son in 30 years and Ed's sons haven't called in about 5 years. Father's Day came and went without any contact. For that matter, so did Mother's Day for me. However, I took care of my mother for 10 years. She had a similar situation: Pulmonary Emphysema with 12% of her lungs functioning, bleeding ulcers and oxygen 24 hours. So, I'm experienced with this kind of situation. It gets a little tiring but my husband helps in any way that he can.
Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you for the very nice prayer! We believe that way also and it works! We have faith and know that God is in control. It's his decision when you are going to die and go to Heaven.
Thank you so much!

Sorry to hear your husband is so ill. Our family has had the privilege of hospice care and highly recommend it if your doctor thinks it will be helpful. The hospice services are so beneficial to both patient and family.
Best of luck to you both.
On my knees right now praying fiercely on his and your behalf. God is able....Eph. 3:20. Hugs & Blessings....
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult. May you find strength and peace.
@pml It is so wonderful to see the support here, that you asked for!
You and your husband, your friends and family, are in my thoughts and prayers. Please look into hospice care for both of you. They are so helpful not only for the patient but family, too. Check with your husband's doctor about palliative care, and for help negotiating everything you are handling right now. Be gentle on yourself, please.

I want to second Ginger's remark about hospice. My mother in-law was in hospice the last ten days of her life but I really wish it had been the last six months. We felt supported as a family team and frankly I benefitted because I was more able to connect with her emotionally when I wasn't run off my feet with practical things. I think this was true for her son, my husband, too. He'd been there for every hospitalization and it was a huge relief to stay put at home. She died when he was in the room with her doing a crossword puzzle--an interest they shared.
Dear PML,
My heart goes out to you and your husband. I am sending my best thoughts and prayers. I want to echo what others said about enlisting hospice care. They are a loving and compassionate team of professionals who will provide comfort care for your husband and will provide you with support.
Pray for him.
God is kind
Thank you! You are so right!
