If it was me, I’d definitely go to a really good/teaching hospital and get a complete check up I understand a lot of people have the surgery and the Drs. Do not instruct them what they need to take and do. I’m on so many supplements that are needed daily/weekly/monthly and cannot be neglective in not doing so, or your body is going to break down. Was she set up with a nutritionist, psychologist and weekly/monthly/yearly follow ups? They are so important to keep. If you don’t get answers try to see the best Bariatric surgeons for evaluation. Good luck.

I'm going to have "find" a good bariatric surgeon in our area. We just don't have the money or reliable transportation to travel far. And, no, he was never recommended to see nutritionist, counselor, nor any other doctors or specialist. He had one follow up with the surgeon, a general surgeon. He now sees a psychiatrist, pain management doctor, a neurologist and oncologist/hematologist.
For 4 years +, we have researched on our own for answers. My son actually found that he probably had copper deficiency 4 years ago. He had not had a PCP for years, but through financial assistance, was sent to one. He begged the doctor to check his copper level. After 3 months, the doctor reluctantly did. Before the results came back, my son was hospitalized with life-threatening illness. The results came back a day later. His copper was almost completely depleted. To sum up, we are still learning and praying that others may be helped by his ordeal. Thank you for listening (reading).
