What comes after Evenity?

Please let me know if after Evenity, then TYMLOS, you will try 20% of Reclast. ( I may have got this order of meds wrong but I’m struggling too and trying to figure out what to do , after evenity..they only say Reclast or Prolia. I ask the e we endo if I could try 20% but she said no, we’re not set up for that. How do you find a Doc like yours. Was there paperwork, redone involved? I have to do oral surgery on top of everything so want to do it asap before I start anything by the end of July! In a crunch here..help

My doc says to wait 2-3 months after Evenity to do Reclast. (After Tymlos, it is right after the last injection.)

I am having oral dental surgury and the surgeon says it’s better to go this with no other meds ..I just finished on May 20th…I would prefer waiting 2-3 months…my docs say 2 months…is there anything official I could quote to prove this 2-3 months? I’m getting desperate because one endo. wants it soon as if you ever need evenity again you’d be turned down! ( if they find a way to add on more than a year) ??? I sure would like to know if I can find anything to back up my plan…anything !

A couple of weeks ago my endo said the limit, in his view, was 2 months after Evenity to do Reclast. He said it does take time for Evenity to mineralize bone so there was no rush. But he amended the limit to two months. So that is in agreement with your doctors.

I didn't really understand some of your post, sorry. Can you clarify?

Prolia causes a rebound effect when you stop it. Your bones go back to worse than baseline and fracture risk is increased. So you must stay on it forever (which, depending on your age, might be a reasonable course of action as long as you're not having any side effects that you can't live with) or take a bisphosphonate after going off Prolia. Whatever bone drug you take, whether antiresorptive or anabolic, is going to have side effects which you personally may or may not experience. If you decide to do Prolia, know what the side effects are and if the benefits for you outweigh the risks to you. Different people will answer that question differently. The main problem with Prolia is the rebound effect which is unique to that drug. If you find you can't tolerate it for some reason, you can't just stop it. You must take a relay bisphosphonate. Those have their own side effects to consider. You'll also have to consider what your insurance will cover. It's worth a discussion with your doctor for what the exit plan is for coming off Prolia.

Thanks for letting me know you didn’t understand some of my message. I’m going to guess it may be toward the end. I’m consulting with 2 endos and had asked some questions about timing as I have oral surgury coming this week. The surgeon said it’s best if you could not be on any of the meds like the proposed reclast or Prolia while I’m doing the dental work. I asked the endo about other options to use, what’s the firm date before I have to get on a new med…in reply she indicated I needed to think of my health and my life and if I didn’t follow their recommendations, they might not let me back on Evenity , if they find a way to extend Evenity. I didn’t understand, as I’m only asking for timing clarity and any options ( as even the surgeon knew about both meds and said yes, there’s a chance the new meds might cause problems…1-3% chance. Is this more clear ? Hope so !
