I am glad to find this thread of similar experiences. That said, I had my biopsy nine days ago. 12 samples were taken 10 were benign one had a Gleason score of 3+3 = 6 the other one was just something else. I’m not sure yet till I talk to the doctor this week I was warned about blood in the urine and semen. I saw blood in my urine quite frequently until a couple of days ago, and it seems to have gotten better. I’ve been drinking a lot of water. Although if I sit for long period of time, it seems there is blood in the urine, maybe this pressure putting on the prostate when I sit, not sure. As far as semen, today was the first day that I ejaculated since the biopsy. I was horrified at the amount of blood and the color dark red.
Doctors really have to be more honest about what to expect because it seems like a lot of people think it’s just going to be a little bit of blood that they will hardly notice, but it’s different than that experience. My question is I know it takes 6-8 weeks to clear up, but is it healthier to ejaculate more often just to clear out any blood that’s accumulating around the prostate? I should mention I am 66 so I wasn’t ejaculating frequently before the Biopsy.
Honestly, I really don’t want to ejaculate if I’m going to see that every time, But if cleaning the pipes, a couple times a week is going to hurry up the process, Then I will find the time to do What is necessary.
I know the feeling of seeing so much blood in your semen. I did ejaculate several times each week and it seemed to be a little less each time. I didn't ask the doctor about whether I should or shouldn't. Did yours mention? It did take mine a full 8 weeks to clear up. My blood in urine went away after a week or so. Feel free to PM if you need more info from me.
