That might be a good idea, but be prepared for him to decline to get personally involved on something outside his specialty. Some will, some won't. Also remember that the final decision is always yours. They can't make you do anything. Three shots in a few weeks is so outside the norm that I personally would demand to know the reasoning behind this, asking any nurse, technician or PA you can get to talk to you. And I would refuse to show up for additional shots without that information. But that's just me. This is not medical advice. Before any of this, however, I would be looking for a second opinion or a different doctor. And as another poster pointed out, your insurance may not cover additional shots so close together. That's another important avenue to explore. Immediately contact your insurance company. They usually have to approve Prolia injections BEFORE they are administered or they may not cover them. Find out if they've been approved or will be approved. Good luck. I hope you get your answers.

I am started writing this now twice & the pc gremlin deletes it!. Trying
again! Re the referral, I don;t know if this point if my family doctor has
completed that & I am running out of time. This whole thing has taken
forever & my bones are certainly not improving over time.

I am really kicking myself for contacting UW Madison in the first place for
an osteoporosis doctor when the Sauk Prairie Hospital out here is much
closer & I should have realized that there just might have been an
osteoporosis doctor who comes out at least once a month that I could have
connected with! Much closer too. A 20 minute drive as opposed to an hour
or more! Dumb me! I have already called the hospital in SP & confirmed
this & even know who the doctor is - !!! Infinitely better than my current
one in Madison who I suspect is a newbie.

This may not be possible but I am going to give it a try!
