Oh wow and so glad you survived the surgery ! How did they do your surgery ? How often will you have to have it replaced - Ive read after 5 years it gets on the decline . Thank you for all of your info . Glad you’re doing well .

Hi, open heart surgery (only way to get to the base of the aorta) they replaced that section of the aorta with a graft. There is no declining, this is for the rest of my life. As I have propensity to aneurysms (especially because of my BAV) they do need to check my whole aortic system every 2 to 5 years (MRIs) to check there are no new aneurysms. Not sure where you got that it declines after 5 years, I am 58 and retired now, working out everyday, I feel incredibly well.
