Will shoe insoles help alleviate discomfort?

I have orthotics made by the best orthotic maker for a long distance around. He makes orthotics for Olympic athletes, and for a lot of people who simply need to continue being on their feet and need help - like me. I had Morton's Neuroma, a very painful condition arising from a nerve impingement between the 4th and 5th toe. The lower extremetity physician offered surgery, with the caveat that surgery might not fix the problem. Instead, I went to the local orthotic maker. He immediately knew what a Morton's Neuroma was and how to treat it. The first orthotic didn't totally fix the problem so he adjusted the orthotic and, Bingo! Pain was gone and no surgery. I wear the orthotics in all shoes but sandals. The orthotic has lessened the pressure on the nerves between the 4th and 5th toes so that I can wear sandals in the summer without the pain of a Morton's Neuroma. I do look for shoes with a removable insole so that I can easily slip the orthotics into the shoes. I wear Mary Jane's for winter dress shoes, and they are fitted to be worn with the orthoric. Summer dress shoes are sandals and are worn without the orthotics. Good luck!
