I am not diabetic but have been told I have neuropathy in feet, didn't. bother me much for years except numbness on bottom of feet. Last year or so have had ankle & feet cramps at night. Theraworx foam cream on feet at bedtime usually takes care of that. But lately have had pain off & on, swelling & redness. I saw neurologist yrs ago who described a ton of expensive tests I would need to possibly find cause. Since it was not really a problem at that time, I declined. My primary care doc prescribed Gabapentin but it made me a little groggy & I have read about longtime side effects, so stopped it. Has been suggested I might wear knee high compression sox.

Hello,

I have non diabetic neuropathy since 2009. My symptoms progression follows pretty much yours. I took a lot of all sorts of tests blood, genetic, spinal and visited many neurologists at many places on the east coast - nada the diagnosis is idiopathic sensory-motor polyneuropathy. Last year the n-th neurologist prescribed Sensory (+- Motor) Neuropathy Panel with one of the tests being IgG vs FGFR3 - bingo ... and so what, no treatment available. My solution is exercise as much as you can, take no medication since it seems to only aggravate the damn thing, gadgets don't help, I keep Gabapentin as the last resort (I tried it for a couple days and it worked).
God bless.
