Hip replacement and still cannot walk
I am a health 62 year old. I had a hip replacement in 2018 for AVN, had a revision 2023 due to infection. It has been over a year and I cannot walk independently and have chronic pain. I have seen two ortho surgeons, neuro & spine physician. Had X-rays, CT & MRI. What I am being told is something is wrong but they are not sure what. I am looking for a recommendation on a physician, someone who maybe able to help.

Don't know where you live but I would get your doctor to refer you to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
I'm thinking a doctor's referral might get you in sooner.
@jacquejimenez61 Your situation sounds distressing to me. Can you get a referral to Mayo Clinic? Or you can self-refer. Here is the link that works for all three campuses of Mayo Clinic:

So sorry Jacque. I would try either Mayo, as others have suggested, or the Cleveland Clinic. Both are top notch medical establishments and where most of the nation's top Drs and surgeons come from.
Or you could look for a local Dr who did a residency at one of these places.
Question - what is AVN? And what was the nature of the infection and why 5 years after the replacement in 2018?
FWIW - I had both knees replaced in 2022 when I was 68 y/o. Since then, I have to take four horse-pill sized Amoxicillin pills one hour before any dental work, even a cleaning to fend off any infection. Certainly infections can occur from other causes and make their way to a replaced joint. I'm just curious to know how that happened, and if your Drs know.
All the best to you Jacque. Please let us know if you get some answers and some relief. Joe
I’ve been dealing with the same situation since 2017. I have to use a walker. Thanks to everyone who has made suggestions above. I’ve given up hope.
I agree that it would be helpful to get a referral from one of your doctors if you can. They will probably be better able to describe what is needed.
My hip surgery has not been a super success but has to do with my lower back as well. I wonder if you had blockers put in your lower back and also i found an injection in the Burser side of leg/hip.... these helped me so much... just a thought take care.
