Trimix injection good or bad idea?

Posted by jasonfarmer @jasonfarmer, Sep 17, 2023

59 years old. prostatectomy just over 3 months ago. Take daily 5mg tadalafil or 100mg sildenafil before intercourse . Successful only 2 times without vac pump. I am considering Trimix injections just not sure when or if I should. I would appreciate some insight from men who have used and when they started. No other treatments for cancer needed. Presently cancer free. 0 psa 2 blood test so far. I am thankful for what I have just want the best I can achieve. Thank you for any shared experiences good or bad.

Thanks for this discussion, it has helped me seek out and begin to use Trimix for my ED problems. I am 63 and have not have prostate cancer but have had ED for years. Sildenafil has worked but slowly it became hit and miss, even with going to the 100 mg dose. Trimix is wonderful, it's been a while since I was firm enough for penetration. And yes, my wife is happy too. However, I've found that it takes an aggressive amount of stimulation to ejaculate. I'm just starting out and should be happy with the results but wondered if anyone has experienced this and if there are any remedies.

I suspect with a little time it will be easier. If not I would not hesitate to talk to a good urologist.

I use Trimix, 15 units and it works reasonably well. Vaccum pump was ok but my penis was purple and could not sustain an erection before 10 minutes.

Do find a good urologist who specializes in men's sexual health. Trimix can be hit or miss til they get the correct combination of the three drugs.

Be patient.

I have had robotic prostectomy and do use tri mix plIt does not allow for spontaneous situations, takes planning and it does take a little courage to inject oneself

I have been using Trimix for about 6.5 years. I was diagnosed at age 51. It has been the only thing that works. I am using the same dosage as when I started years back (3-4 units). The injection part is still uncomfortable. I was told by my urologist that you can get an auto-injector, whereby you hit a button and it does the work, but I have yet to try. I was also told to use the vacuum pump 1-2 times a week for 15-20 minutes if not using Trimix 2X a week to keep the penis healthy. Maybe this has helped to keep the dosage consistent (?). In summary, I am a fan of Trimix.

Is that 3 to 4 units or 30 to 40 units? As I understand 3 units is just 3 little line on insulin needle. If this is the case I am happy for you. I myself was at 34 now down to 28 units, @ 9 months in. Thanks for you for sharing and helping this group.

Believe it or not, it’s 3 to 4 units out of a 100 unit syringe. I have to be careful as this lasts for 2 to 5 hours. Which makes it even more frustrating as nothing else will work. Seems that with that little, a pill or the trimix gel should work, but no dice. I wish you the very best of luck!

BTW, I use a 50 unit syringe now, as I have never come close to 50 units anyway. It's a little narrower barrel and a little shorter length, which I find makes measurements easier and perhaps more precise.

@florida11
I don't like to use the autoinjector. I'd much rather insert the needle myself.
