Could someone in this thread help me know which nebulizer to get for the 7% saline (I need a brand and type)? My physician has just added saline to my treatment of MAI. The review on Amazon look so negative for those nebulizers. Don't these nebulizers have to be sterilized somehow? How are you doing this? With boiling with disinfected water or are they self-cleaning or what?
Any help welcome,
Mokie

Mokie -
I always recommend that people look to a medical supply company for their day-to-day nebulizer.
Here are things that are important - a strong compressor, a good warranty and relatively fast dispensing times, as well as lower decibels if you will be using it around others or noise bathers you.
I have been using these devices for MANY years, and can tell you that most of the portable, compact, hand-held ones are not going to make you happy long term.
There are both larger and small (quite portable) compressor models depending on your needs. The reuseable nebulizer cups for all of these can be sterilized, and the tubing is replaced regularly, but not washed or sterilized.

The best way to get what you need is to call one of the dedicated medical suppliers during business hours and talk to one of their consultants, who can direct you to the best machine for you. Here are some reliable companies I use/have used with good results: Just Nebulizers (justnebulizers.com) Nebology (nebology.com) Corner Home Medical (cornermedical.com) and Vitality Medical (vitalitymedical.com)
I'm sure others will have their own recommendations for you.

Pari or Ombra are most often recommended brands by Drs. https://justnebulizers.com/ is one place you can shop them. I use the Pari sprint cups and tubing with either the Ombra compressor or the Pari ProNeb Max compressor. Look around online and then come back if you have more questions. You do have to both clean the cups and sterilize them. The manufacturer provides instructions for that or ask here.
