I'm really sorry to hear of your pain. has there been any change for you since your posting?

another update for me. i got a second opinion which the guy took some new x-rays and said i agree with the other doctor, just give it more time. I also made an appointment at Mayo clinic and saw a pain management doctor who gave me steroid shots. The pain relief was good but they said it could take up to three weeks for the steroids to work. I'm not really sure if they ever did.
Before following up with him, I also saw a neurologist (not at mayo) to see if it was a nerve problem. He was terrible. he did almost no talking, asked almost no questions and bare bones explaining. I had a test done on my legs (and arms as I was curious about them starting to fall asleep more then they used too.) and he said the tested showed nothing. (This is again as I'm laying down. no one seems to listen that the pain is when I sit, and somehow test me when I'm in that position. and when I ask i get some reason as to why it either isn't done that way, or isn't important). I did resume some physical therapy going off the assumption it could be sciatica. the stretches sort of help. but then I sit down again for any amount of time and the pressure and pain comes back.

now that I've helped my mother move from one state to another we are a little closer to Mayo, so I contacted the pain management doctor again. this time I had a CT with Contrast. He said it shows signs of inflammation around the S.I. joints, and and some around the Hip implant. So I'm scheduled to get I guess another inject at the S.I. joint and I think he said I should reach out to another orthopedic surgeon to check on the hip.

This is nuts. I get that its a major surgery and it is just barely a full year, but My 80-something yr old neighbor had it done three months ago and is still stiff and has pains but doesn't seem to complain about the same things.

I am two years post THR and still have pain. I live with it.
