Chronic pain and medical marijuana

Posted by ladyjane85 @ladyjane85, Jul 16, 2016

A nurse friend tried me on marijuana oil smoked in an electronic pen since nothing works with my pain under everything pain management has tried. I did not respond - can one be immune to it as I am with all procedures on my back and all pain relievers

@19lin

I also know that age can effect medication. Recently I had similar problems with some medication that was too strong for me, and I had to reduce the dose until I found the right strength to work without disagreeing with me. The genetic pharaclogy idea sounds good but I don't know how much it costs. I'd also like to try stem cells especially for my knee which is now bone on bone, to see if cartilage would regenerate. The same might work on my back. I did sign up will 23andme, a genetic testing group for research and family history. I got some information from them on drugs and medicines that could work for me. This was years ago but the data is still good. They had an issue with the FDA and had to stop giving out medical information until the last couple years when the FDA approved some of their results. 23andme now charges $199 for a test, but I do not know what kind of medical information you can get from them now. 19lin

Good morning Vickie,
Mayo clinic is the leading founder in the indusrty on genetic testing and more specificlly parmacogenetic testing. Mayo acct services will help with the insurance coverage. But the doctor could always ask laboratory services. You can share this link with him/her.

One of the nice things about this test is that it is a once-in-a-lifetime test. You don’t need to repeat it because it’s showing which drugs your genes can and cannot break down and that is based on your DNA.

Another valuable part of getting this test done is that the last page has a summary of all your genetic polymorphisms i.e. which pathways work well genetically and which pathways don’t. If you are stuck in an emergency room, you can give this to the emergency doctor who could cross-reference it with drugs that would be appropriate for you in the ER.
We use this in our facility daily. We have better healthcare outcomes, decreased hospital visits, happy patients that are being treated with less medications and reduced cost of medications.

please try sublingual CBD it is from the plant, no smoking, no TCH so you don't get high. It helped a great deal with my chronic pain of nerve damage from a hernia operation.

If approved in your state then medical use is permitted. You must get an RX from one of their docs and then visit a store that sells varieties of it. The clerks will help you decide what works best.

If you are asking about THC, liquid marijuana that I tried smoking in
electric cigarette, I FL it is not legal. I tried it from a friend - where
he gets it I did not ask. When you write be more specific what was talked
about bec I talk with many on this chat line about many diff things and
meds. Besides it makes you high, I understand, so one cannot do anything
or go anywhere. I did not react to it as I have such troubles with so many
meds.
from ladyjane85

Not approved in FL, but vote coming up again. Medical kind is very
expensive, and no insurance will cover it I expect. ladyjane85
