Cervical stenosis: Leg weakness
Hi. I'm 59 years old female with chronic neck pain. I have been diagnosed with cervical stenosis and a bulging disc. I am very concerned because I get leg weakness and loose my balance. Has anyone have this leg problem? I just started seeing a pain management Doctor and he said he is going to treat me with some neck injections.

wow. Just found this... mine is almost the same. My neck is messed up. Going for ortho consult in two weeks... I hope I can take the pain until then. Hope you're doing better!
Well, things are slowly getting sorted out after the surgery. Even though I was warned about the muscle spasms in the upper back and neck afterwards, it still surprised me. Those were brutal. Just finished up PT and now it'll just take time and me doing my home PT to get back to normal (whatever that will end up looking like). Range of motion isn't great now when looking up and looking down but side to side isn't much worse than it was before. Also, my right triceps muscle is almost non-existent now and I still have pain in a good portion of my trap muscle on that side. Hoping this is just normal atrophy and will come back with exercise. Otherwise, its off to get an EMG to see if I have Parsons - Turner syndrome or some other nerve related issue.
@rdflash0788 Thanks for your update. You had a big surgery, so it makes sense that your recovery is more involved and also from it being a posterior approach. I do hope your muscle atrophy gets better. I had some of that too, and it did improve after my spine surgery. Recovery does take a very long time.
