Hi - my ascending aortic aneurysm repair is in a week at the University of Washington Med Center in Seattle. We currently live in Seattle but plan to sell the Seattle home and move to our new home in Arizona. I'll recuperate and rehab here then off to PHX in September. I want to transfer my post-surgical treatment to Mayo Phoenix. I want to start the process this week—suggestions for making this a smooth and safe transition. I'm going to need a cardiologist right out of the box.

I would start by calling the appointment desk at Mayo AZ , that is usual starting point for new patients. One of first questions you will be asked about is insurance, so have your insurance cards ready. Every Mayo locations take different insurance, so that is first thing to check out.

Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona
Central Appointment Office
480-301-8484
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain time, Monday through Friday

You may also ask your current surgeon to do a referral to AZ.

Are you going to be looking for a primary provider in addition to specialists? If a primary provider is not available, then ask about specialist in departments you need.

Just checking in to see how your aneurysm repair went . Did you have a chance to contact Mayo AZ about follow up care?
