It is a really bad rash that itches like poison ivy when I take off the bag. I have tried the new appliance approach but I need a bag that is deep convex that doesn't irritate the skin. I don't think they have such a bag out there yet and so wish they did. Thanks for your reply!

Coloplast makes a deep convex barrier with a click mechanism for the bag that might help you. Also, I have found that the Cavillon no sting barrier wipes are helpful.

I have had great luck with the colorplast mio flex convex barrier that is shaped like a star. It sticks far better and covers less skin so I rarely get a rash I use the closed end pouch but it does come in a drainable If you call they will send you a sample

Khalberstadt42, is the soreness directly around the stoma, where the stomahesive sits, or around the outside where the tape border sits?

Khalberstadt42,
It may be moisture induced dermatitis. Sometimes I get that if I wear the appliance too long (14days). When I get that I clean and dry the area then apply a light dusting of Desenex, then dab a skin prep wipe over that, air dry and put the appliance on.

If it’s sore because of a reaction to the tape border on the appliance, you’ll need to find an appliance that won’t irritate your skin.
