I have been doing Gemzar every other week since beginning it last July with a break around October for liver resection. Until very recently it was successful in keeping tumor growth at bay and keeping CA19-9 down.
Many doctors are going to the bi-monthly plan to preserve your chemistry and allow you to stay as healthy as possible . (For whatever is next!)

I’m going to ask my dr about resection. How long was that surgery and recovery period? Radiation effectiveness only lasted 6 months and now my numbers (CA19-9) are rapidly climbing. Gemzar alone is not effective for me. Last MRI said I had an ablation defect. I dint know exactly what that means, but after my MRI it made that area of pain around my liver even more and now my nauseous whenever I eat.
