I have 2 prolapses stomas; one active the other inactive: What to do?
I have two prolapse stomas one active the other inactive .Now the inactive one when they are both recessed covers the active one and prevents proper drainage into the bag causing feces built up which causes stinging and pressure on the side of the bag causing too many leakages. So far stoma nurses haven’t come up with an answer. Been wearing a nu hope prolapse belt.

@lfcmja, I believe fellow members @tobydeligdish @blinken @wilcy have also dealt with prolapsed stomas.
Is the prolapse belt helping?
Prolapse belt is not helping. It can keep both prolapses basically close to the stoma opening .However the inactive stoma is still covering the active one causing the problems I described. Hope some members can help!
I would suggest that you see the surgeon who did surgery for a solution Hope this helps
Hi peg
I saw the surgeon this past Friday. Basically no help. She described a procedure in which she could keep secondary prolapse recessed .However, she said that there was a good chance it would prolapse in a few weeks to a few months.
Sorry…Pez not peg
