GOOD GRIEF, how awful. I have a hiatal hernia too, but dr said that it was not causing problems so leave it alone. I didn't think that was a good idea, but after reading your post, my hiatal hernia is staying put. I have too many other problems to deal with, twisted intestines, I can't handle anything more. Thanx for the insight.

I agree. I had mine for several years without any problems. Then I had a year of misery. I was even aspirating in my sleep. You will know. I had to have it done. But there's always a risk when you have a serious surgery. Just like my laminectomy. It didn't work but I needed to do something. I'm hoping my doctor contacts me when she gets back from her vacation. Now on CT scan they found the mesh is protruding into my chest cavity. I'm really hoping she used the dissolvable mesch because I can't do this again.
