Hi @rlmac27 and @ujeenjack - welcome to Connect! I'm tagging @johnwburns, @tomgrinley and @saucy, as these members have discussed their experience with managing diabetes. I also encourage you to check out some information on diabetes management from Mayo Clinic: http://mayocl.in/1ieibM2.

@rlmac27, have you consulted with your physician regarding this? He/she may have additional tips to help you manage your levels. Can you also share with the group the types of food you're eating? Your diet is very critical to effectively managing diabetes and a few members may be able to provide some insight around that.

I had "pre-diabetes" for a while so my PCP was monitoring me closely. When I crossed over into diabetes she prescribed Metformin ER in the AM and regular Metformin at bedtime. That has, so far, managed my diabetes well and I have not had to consider insulin.

U DID NOT SAY WHETHER U R TYPE 1 OR 2.

U SHOULD BE TALKING TO YOUR DIABETES SPECIALIST, NOT DOING THESE POSTS!

I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THAT TYPE OF INSULIN. a READING OF 300 IS HIGH!

U SHOULD ALSO BE CHECKING YOUR Hb1AC every 2-3 mos. and your KIDNEY FUNCTION! YOUR CREATININE IS THE INDICATOR TO LOOK AT TOO.

I am doing all that you list with my doctors and still no luck. Guess i need to look for a specialist
