Spinal cord injury cervical contusion
I had a fall resulting in a cervical contusion. A few millimeters from bring a paraplegic. After countless MRI’S the contusion has resulted in severe numbness, burning from waist down and hands . I have been on baclofen, gabapentin for years. My Neuro tried Cymbalta, no help now trying Lyrica . So far nothing helps with burning pain, spasticity or numbness. Any other suggestions ?

@pepperroot Welcome to Connect. I am a cervical spine surgery patient. It sounds like your injury was some years ago. That must be hard to live with. I have known 2 different friends who became paraplegics after spinal cord injuries. I thought you may be interested in some research at Mayo by Dr. Bydon who has had some success with using stem cells to treat spinal cord injuries. This discussion may not be active anymore, but there are links in it with the stories and information about the research at Mayo.

Are you doing any rehab or physical therapy to try to regain function?
It's not fun but meds are not the answer.
Explain. What helps
My fall was 2013 with 5 weeks in hospital rehab and moths of learning to walk. Now I just deal with spasticity and severe nerve pain
I have tried
Gabapentin
Cymbalta
Now on lyrica
Nothing helps
