How long did you wait for biopsy results?
Coming up on nearly 3 weeks since I had my fusion biopsy and still no results/feedback from the urologist. I was originally told one week, possibly two due to IT problems.
Left a voicemail and an email end of last week but no response. Not sure if this is just the state of affairs in the medical world these days due to short-staffing issues or not?
Curious to hear what others have experienced.

I have spoken to a retired urologist ( a customer of mine .... ) and an oncologist ( an aquaintance of mine ) and they both agreed that a " blind biopsy " might not be the best course of action at this point . They said that due to the risks of problematic bacterial infections - and possible consequences from perforating the prostate that a " 3Tesla " MRI might be a good first step because even though it's more likely than not that I have prostate cancer that may need addressing - there is still a small chance that there is no aggressive cancer that needs treatment - more importantly they said that the information from the MRI would be of great assistance in targeting important areas if a biopsy is warranted . My follow up research and other comments I've received all seem to back this up ....
My husband had to wait two weeks. I don't believe this was because it took that long to get results, it was just what his urologist does. On the day of his biopsy they scheduled his follow up two weeks out exactly. Nothing was ever posted on his patient portal for these results whereas all other test results were posted on the portal within a few hours. Personally, I think making patients wait for their results for two or more weeks is an unkind practice. Those were the longest and most stressful weeks we had to endure. Good luck to you! Maybe you should walk in to the urologist office in person and see if they can help you. Three weeks is not okay!
Finally got a response after leaving another call and email. Going in tomorrow to discuss results with urologist so that is the next step up the hill. Thanks.
Best of luck to you!
