Failed prep for colonoscopy: What can I do?
I recently failed two preps for a colonoscopy, and I can't imagine putting myself through another attempted prep (stuff makes me hurl). Initially, prior to my 2nd failure to prepare, the PA put me on Raniditone - which is apparently just Zanactz - but now my heart burn is out of control!<br /> I wake every morning with a sinus-load of stomach acid. I already was taking emepresole (sp?) in the morning. This double-dose of anti-acids seems to be on its way to doing me in. BUT, if I don't take the Randitone - I get the original issue back, which is a horrible pinching pain in my side and massive diarrhea all day. I am at a loss.

Do you know of other success stories?
@catherine1290 It's been over a year and I have not had reversal surgery yet.
How was it after waiting 2.5 years?
I’ve also done the pill prep. I had a colon resection due to Crohn’s Di in ‘85 and have had a colonoscopy every year until 2022. Thankfully I found a dr that said I could skip 3 yrs.
I have done the camera pill. That was truly the easiest colonoscopy ever! However my new dr told me he advised against it because if they find something they have to go in. But I’m thinking if he doesn’t find anything, then yay!! 🤷♀️
So I guess I’ll opt for the tablets.
Blessings to all!
Like any open abdominal surgery there is a long recovery time but now,3 years later, I am VERY glad I did it!
That’s brutal ! I thought the gallon of Golightly was horrible ( which it is ) but this seemed longer and more dragged out .
That post is from 2016 . How are you doing now ?
