Can Mirtazapine cause burning feet?
I have been on 15mg mirtazapine for approximately 2 yeas and I’ve developed burning feet. I take the mirtazapine at night and my feet seem worse at night. It seems to be progressing to my ankles. Do you think the mirtazapine is the cause. My dose is 15mg.

I am suffering from burning feet. I’m guessing but I think it started when my GP put me on Mirtazapine. Has anyone experienced this.
I also have a question about Alpha Lipoic Acid. I have read that this is used for diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Can anyone tell me if it works for none diabetic PN
John
Hi John @bigjohnscho, I don't have the burning feet with my neuropathy but thought I would jump in while you wait for others with experience to respond and share a few links that may be helpful.
You are not alone with the burning feet. There are many members who have started discussions and shared their experience with burning feet and legs. You might want to look at the complementary and alternative treatments listed on the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy which also contains a list of supplements including alpha lipoic acid that has helped some people - https://www.foundationforpn.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Complementary-and-Alternative-Treatments-Revised-2020-final.-1.pdf
Thanks for the info John, it was useful.
i have severe neuropathy. alpha lipid acid did not work for me. i take gabapentin at nite
I find not all makes of Alpha Lipoic Acid work. I buy mine at Shopper's Drug Mart. I am not diabetic and I also wear compression socks at night. This combination doesn't always work, but I don't have the pain as frequently.
I agree, most of the less expensive ones are 50% synthetic ALA which doesn't really do anything for you. I use the Na-R-ALA.
