Tymlos or Forteo

Posted by jbfm @jbfm, May 10 8:38am

Has anyone taken Forteo for two years, taken several years with no meds and then taken Tymlos successfully? I'm loathe to begin Reclast because I'm worried about long-term effects! But I need to do something!

That's what happened to me after Forteo and no drugs. Back to square one. As if I'd never done Forteo at all

Hope you don't mind a few questions. How long did you take Forteo? Did it improve your DEXA scores? Why didn't you take any follow-up drugs and have you taken any other bone meds since then? Thanks.

I did Forteo for 2 years, my dexascan numbers improved somewhat (not fabulous) and rheumatologist wanted me on Prolia to maintain my gain. He gave me the booklet and told me NOT TO READ or I'd refuse it.
I read it and refused it.
I'm on nothing now but need to do something. My new endo wants me on Reclast.

I wonder if the OsteoBoston presentation with Dr. Benjamin Leder could also shed some light.
