Laser Therapy for Neuropathy

Hello, @skiebunny ~
I've been treated by my physical therapist/myokinesthetist for two years and she uses a deep-tissue laser on my feet, calves, and hands. My main problem is lack of feeling with tingling and numbing but coldness is also a problem, especially in the feet, no matter how hot the season. The laser therapy has definitely helped but for me it has taken these two years for feeling to return. And, Medicare does not cover my treatments. However, I am willing to pay the $40./session out of pocket (every other week) because for me the success is worth it. Medicare does pay for a lower degree of laser but it was not helpful for me. She also has had me using an electromagnetic therapy called Bemer for about 6 months which greatly improves blood circulation. I'm sure that contributes to the success, as well. The laser machines being offered for sale on the internet do not have the same strength for deep tissue treatment as those used in medical centers. I hope this explanation isn't confusing and that it helps to answer your question.

Can you tell me exactly the laser she uses? I had about two months-twice a week laser treatments and at that point felt I wasn't finding any improvement. Thanks!

Thanks for your help. I just need to find a laser therapist now!
