Has anyone tried Capsaicin (Qutenza) for neuropathy in their feet?
Hello everyone, I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post a link like this, and if I’m not, please remove it, but… someone (non-medical person) sent this to me as a possible treatment.
I have idiopathic non-diabetic neuropathy of the feet, and would definitely try this (although the way it gets applied indicates it could be harmful if any of it gets on any other area), but at this point I’ll try anything.
So, has anyone tried this? It seems to be an ingredient in pepper spray, if you can believe it.

It's made with hot pepper juices. It feels hot on the skin. I prefer methol based rubs like Alieve with 16% methol and 4% campfer.
I tried the Capzasin brand, and a couple hours later, my toes felt like they were burning. I stopped that quickly!
Capsaicin has helped me but you need to use it regularly. I have read that some do get burning initially but it gets better over time. Alpha Lipoic acid and Acetyl l carnitine supplements plus lidocaine patches/creams have also helped me with nerve pain in feet.
I have the same as you. My neuropathy is caused by Sciolosis. Yes, I have tried that cream and it worked well for me. Another cream I use and like is Frankencense and Myrrh. I have used 12+ different ones, and have settled on 6. Just change off.
I'm currently waiting for prescription for this. My GP said it's difficult to get here in UK at present. He said to me that initially it will be more painful and then much improvement with nerve pain. I am hoping it will rid me of constant pins and needles in my feet. Drives me mad at times!
I have several tube's of 1% capsaicin cream if anyone wants them. Post your desire to me and I will mail them to you.
Be careful with lidocaine. Look up the side effects on WEB MD. Can be dangerous. I’ve tried Capsaicin with little results. I found an unlikely cream called Eucerin.
My neuropathy goes from my toes to my knees. Really bad in my feet so bad that I couldn’t sleep. I rub eucerin from my toes to my knees and now get good sleep. Can get it from Walmart or Amazon. 🤞

I had a capsaicin paste made and put on the bottoms of my feet where I have neuropathy. It burned quite a bit and was only on for 1 hour under Dr supervision. Then they use milk and some other things to calm down. Did it work? No
Well I won't waste my time then. Thanks for that information
