Capsaicin has helped me but you need to use it regularly. I have read that some do get burning initially but it gets better over time. Alpha Lipoic acid and Acetyl l carnitine supplements plus lidocaine patches/creams have also helped me with nerve pain in feet.

I'm currently waiting for prescription for this. My GP said it's difficult to get here in UK at present. He said to me that initially it will be more painful and then much improvement with nerve pain. I am hoping it will rid me of constant pins and needles in my feet. Drives me mad at times!

Be careful with lidocaine. Look up the side effects on WEB MD. Can be dangerous. I’ve tried Capsaicin with little results. I found an unlikely cream called Eucerin.
My neuropathy goes from my toes to my knees. Really bad in my feet so bad that I couldn’t sleep. I rub eucerin from my toes to my knees and now get good sleep. Can get it from Walmart or Amazon. 🤞
