My son had amazing response to steriods but it messed with his blood sugars shot to 600 and became unconscious plus liver issues and blood pressure. So we switched to ivig . He has an encephalopathy called ESES epilepsy. That causes altered mental status and is responsive to steriods or immunomodulators. All of his outbursts and Irritability just stopped. New child completely!!!
