Has anyone else been told that the plastic spacer in their new knee replacement is too small? WS surgery recommended? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello @midwestgirl and welcome. I am happy to see that our Director, @colleenyoung was here to greet you, Dr.Wermers became my endocrinologist when I was pretty desperately in need of some Osteoporosis help. I was struggling with Prolia after two years on Tymlos. He helped me understand the issues and the opportunities that would get me back on track as far as my battle with Osteoporosis seemed to be heading, So, far, two years coming up and I will have a defining visit with him as soon as I get my Dexascan this month.
May you have happiness and the causes of happiness,
Chris
The Mayo Clinic was sent a referral by the surgeon who did the procedure, Kyphoplasty on a fracture. The referral was refused saying they did not accept my insurance.
Hello @arveni and welcome to Mayo Connect. I'm glad to hear that you had such a good experience. As this is your first post, please share, as you are comfortable doing so, a little bit about your history with bone loss.
How long ago was bone loss diagnosed? Have you and Dr. Drake developed a treatment plan? I'm wondering, also, how you heard about this forum.
@artscaping speaks highly of Dr. Robert Wermers, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism, and Nutrition at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. https://www.mayoclinic.org/biographies/wermers-robert-a-m-d/bio-20054210
I attended a lecture he gave a while back and found him to be personable and very informative.
Here's more information about the Osteoporosis-Calcium Disorders Specialty Group at Mayo too https://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/osteoporosis-calcium-disorders-specialty-group/overview/ovc-20393283
Thank you!
Agree, Dr. Wermers is a wonderful Endocrinologist. He has been my doctor for 3 years & has helped me tremendously. Highly recommend.
Stay Strong!
Thanks!
Any recommendations for Mayo Phoenix/Scottsdale?

So disappointed!
Just saw Dr Drake. Loved him. Explains everything in detail and spends a long time with you.
