I want to know if Dr. Gundry's program and medicine for "leaky gut" a scam? Lucien

Never wish for constipation. No drs really have any idea how awful it can be or how stupid they are when dishing out meds and advice. Same GI for 17 years, every script available, constant impactions plus worse. When a GI says " I don't know anything about the autonomic nervous system or what to do about motility." RUN OUT OF THE office and dump the dr. before he dumps you, after you get to have a nasal gastric tube shoved up your nose and down your throat for 3 days in ICU, because you DID have a partial small bowel obstruction forming. He literally would not return my calls, when I told him about it.

After several abdominal surgeries I have a particular horror of constipation. Yes I had a total bowel obstruction, ng tubes, central line tpn, weeks in hospital incl icu. Now I always take stool softener, plus Metamucil gummies and warm prune juice for emergencies...also keep Fleets enema and suppositories on hand.

YUCK!! I think you may have just convinced me to stop eating solid food and start guzzling Miralax.
The enemas and suppositories 🔥 so bad. I too have had some painful surgery, but that my tube was just plain torture.

I’m sorry you had/ have to deal with that. I guess it’s pretty miserable at either extreme. I nearly died with c diff and have had constant diarrhea since. It’s been 12 years and I can have uncontrollable diarrhea at any time. Just last week, at a restaurant. It was horrible. I mean, sitting at the table and it just poured out. It was horrible. So, from my perspective, a little constipation would be welcome. I wish we could all just be normal. I’m sorry for your problems.💕

Thanks juniper although I am very sorry for what you are going through. I'm 69 now and have CIC - meaning the Drs and experts have no idea what causes my constipation, much less how to treat it.

And I do everything suggested. Hydration, fiber, solid nutrition, plenty of sleep, in the gym 7 days a week, and I still need to take Miralax every night and stimulant laxatives every other day. And then when that kicks in, I'll spend a day in the bathroom. It's kinda horrible.

I had both knees replaced in 2022 and the surgeon was great and my knees are great. The Dr. used a robotic assistant to guide the removal of arthritic bone.

So if a robot can help fix a knee, why can't the health industry find a fix for constipation. Unreal.

All the best to you friend. Joe

I feel the same. I’ve gone to Dr’s for 12 years and they haven’t been able to help in any way. There has to be an answer out there somewhere.

Hi Joe,
CIC, should stand for chronic idiotic caustic disorder, that all drs suffer from. Your knee surgery made me squirm. I fear that hip surgery is in my future, since both are congenitally deformed and now in a constant impingement. I am afraid of the surgery because of my CIC. I already have to stay in loose to diarrhea, Miralax is the best option for me. My GI was terrific back in 2008 when diagnosed my severe celiac disease, cuz I am asymptomatic, still am. But when he couldn't get me to go away with my CIC and he had nothing that worked. He literally dumped me as his patient.
I hope your knees have recovered well.

Sorry about the problems.

For me, I just have to take a lot of things daily. Otherwise, things get backed up and I have a lot of problems.

- have to hydrate well
- have to take Metamucil
- have to take Miralax
- have to take a full glass of prune juice.

If I don't do that daily, I have trouble.

By that I mean, that I would wait until I have problems and only then take things.

But, as a preventative, doing a daily discipline before any problems show? That is what I really needed to do.

I don't know about Dr. Gundry, but I have seen a large number of professional articles about the stomach, and digestive system and how they are learning more and more and more about how it all affects the general immune system.

So, I don't think this field of study is quackery. The articles I have seen have been from major medical institutions.

I used to do bran and prune juice (and I still do). But until I started with Miralax, my problems did not come under control.

Sorry for the difficulties, take care now.

He’s using his med credentials to scam. It's about money. And if anyone believes that they are going to get their healthy daily dose of vegetables and fruits in a tiny capsule, they are susceptible.

Test beyond the influence of Gundry’s lies demonstrates zip, nada, zero results. Use your god given common sense and spend your money on natural vegetables.

You can google the truth. The same is true for the memory supplement Prevagen. Just don’t forget to google it. Alzheimer's Association gives Prevagen a 👎.
