Cortisone shot on the greater trochanter

Posted by kittykat73 @kittykat73, May 1 10:36pm

Just wondering if it’s safe to take 1 ml of cbd oil as I had a cortisone shot this morning in the greater trochanter area

@kittykat73 I hope the cortisone helps, I was usually able to get good relief from the injection. Any questions about medication really need to be answered by your treating doctor. This is definitely a health and safety issue, and they are in the best position to advise you.

kittykat73, let me know if the injection helps you. I had one in the same place as you. And it's 5 days later and not much help so far. I'm really surprised because everyone I talked to that had gotten a steroid/corticosteroid injections said it was Fantastic! So I'm very disappointed. Maybe the doctor didn't use a strong enough dose?? Not sure...I also have achy legs which I'm not sure of the reason for that. Meds, Long Covid, Osteoarthritis extending from hip down leg?

My opinion is that you should check back with the provider that gave you the injection. I believe it's possible that the medication didn't get into the correct space. I've had several injections and all have helped with the exception of one. That one was given by an NP working with my rheumatologist. I believe the medication wasn't injected exactly into the bursa. I'm not sure but maybe the MD could give you another injection if you talk to him. Just my thoughts.

Well...the hip pain did improve alot after I got a 2nd injection a week later, more in the front of the hip, in the joint. But I now have groin pain... and achy legs still. I'm now scheduled for an MRI on June 14. Wish me luck...I want to get to the bottom of this, but fear the results.... Ugh...trying to stay positive...
