Tymlos side effects I've encountered

@drsuefowler

I have been on a low dose of Tymlos for 6 months and am currently taking 40 mcg (4 clicks). When I recently changed to a new pen, the dose seemed much stronger and I got all the side effects back. I think even refrigerating it, the strength of the Tymlos must decrease. I'm not going to take 2 months to use one pen again. I don't know how long the Tymlos stays strong after 30 days.

I take the Tymlos at bedtime. Sometimes I wake up with a slight headache but it goes away quickly. I have orthostatic hypotension, dizziness with movement especially from sitting to standing, all morning. As a fall risk, this of course is a concern. The worst side effect I am having is the nausea and stomach pain which happens off and on all day. I sometimes do have tooth pain and arthritis pain, which I think may be the hypersensitivity from the medicine. I have a blood test including bone turnover markers and a DEXA scan scheduled in 2 weeks to see if the medicine is helping.

@drsuefowler 2 months is probably too long. I was told 6 weeks was okay. Side effects seemed to vary for me.

I had side effects similar to yours and switched to morning. My systolic blood pressure is usually around 90 so I did a blood pressure on cuff for awhile. Hyrdating and eating salty crackers helped. Ultimately, oddly, I felt better if I got up and moved around and went out vs resting. Maybe activity raised my blood pressure?

I hope you can do more than 4 clicks!
