I am six months post-arthroscopy for meniscal root repair. I was non-weightbearing for six weeks after surgery. As soon as I started weight-bearing again on the surgical side I started having pain in my mid-foot. It has persisted since. Throughout PT, which ended just a couple weeks ago, the foot was examined on several occasions. My foot pain has been significantly greater than any issues with my knee. The best guess by PT is that the pain is related to some residual swelling in my foot. I do have residual swelling in my lateral knee as well, so this does make sense to me. About six weeks ago I started having pain in my medial heel of that same foot. The pain is worse after I exercise and at its worst (7/10) when I have been sitting or resting for periods of time (like first thing in the morning). I have wondered about plantar fasciitis, but have been told the pain is not typically super specific but more generalized. Mine is in a very specific location. I tried buying insoles at a running store and that seemed to make the pain worse. I have reached out to my ortho doc and he is wanting to do a brand new referral for the foot since my knee issues have been resolved. I have tried ibuprofen for pain but it doesn't seem to help much. I have been icing once or twice per day and using magnesium/arnica cream on it once per day. I have also tried some stretching, but perhaps not regularly enough. I am concerned this might be permanent. I do have a strong history of rheumatoid and osteoarthritis in my family and I am 51. I would appreciate any input you might have.

I forgot to mention that my repair was on the medial side, the same side as my heel pain.
