Bad burn during radiation: Anyone had treatment stopped?

I used both and it worked well for me during radiation. After, I used the aloe gel lily of desert and radioplex.

I used aloe vera leaf from my backyard and didn't get burned at all. Make sure you clean it well. I washed the leaf with diluted dish washing soapto remove dirt, dried it, then used rubbing alcohol to disinfect. I used clean knife to remove the original cut and the thorns, stored in refrigerator. Make sure you use it right after each session and continue to another week or two after the radiation therapy is done. Don't use it over the blisters. Wish you all the best. Hugs.

@applegreen205, the burn must be very uncomfortable. I sense that you are also concerned about having treatment stopped prematurely.

How many treatments were you supposed to get? How is the burn healing? Will treatment be resumed?

It’s healing. Not as uncomfortable as it was. I received 25 treatments. Doctor said that was enough. I will not need to resume treatments.

25 does sound like enough. What did you find helped with the healing or to be comforable wearing clothing?

I used aloe vera. It made the burn more tolerable. I put the aloe in the refrigerator, the coolness made the burn feel better.

I work from home, so most of the time I can wear a flowing shirt. I bought a few larger take tops to wear indoors.

I feel tired and have low energy. As mentioned, I take Verzenio and Anastrozole, do you know of anything to help energy?

My radiation caused 3rd degree burns so they stopped it at 4 weeks but a week later we finished it. The oozing and bleeding needed to be arrested before I could continue.

Did you use the actual aloe Vera from the plant? I started yesterday for 33 Proton Therapy and my oncologist said I will burn around the 3/4th week. So I am trying to stay on top of it.
