Why did Mayo refuse to see more for Brachial Plexus Injury?I suffered a injury resulting in nerve injury resulting in chest muscle paralysis and impengement / ischemia of my brachial plexus. Mayo Clinic is the only facility in my state that has a brachial plexus surgeon. They refused to see me multiple times. Leaving me to lay on my back for 544days praying for death to come to me and also causing my permanent nerve injury. Why did they refuse me? I feel like they must seriously be sociopaths to do that to someone. They have refused to respond to my inquiries.

@nursecurt, I'm so sorry that you are in such pain. It is such a gut punch to be denied an appointment. It sounds like you have taken the right steps to get an appointment at Mayo Clinic. Mayo Clinic has more requests for appointments than available openings. You may wish to ask your treating doctor to submit a referral on your behalf. Another possibility for you may be to request an appointment with an institution that is part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.

The Mayo Clinic Care Network is a select group of independent health systems that are granted special access to Mayo Clinic's extensive knowledge and world-leading medical expertise. The Mayo Clinic Care Network helps keep care local by providing guidance and answers to many questions that might otherwise require a referral to a specialist. See the member hospitals here:

If you are in the mid-west, you may also try the Mayo Clinic Health System with locations throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa https://www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org/
