Low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL)
I am 74 years old and had all but one ovary removed in 1988. That ovary was resorbed fairly quickly and I went through abrupt menopause. I haven’t had a Pap test for quite a while - not needed in my case per guidelines.
A new Gynecologist said because I had cryosurgery for a Pre-cancerous condition on my 20’s I should have one.
The result just came in and it says:
Low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL)
I haven’t spoken to Doc yet but this seems bizarre??

Thanks for your reply. I was told it is very likely my result was related to HPV. I don't understand enough about how it presents to respond.
Pb50~Game20I8 have recently experienced many of the same diagnosis. Had complete hysterectomy 40 years ago! Noticed changes in the vulva area decided to get a Pap smear. Wow! Abnormal (1st ever) pap, LS, HPV, HSIL. Undecided if I had a cervix, had vaginal ultrasound. No Cervix! Next colposcopy, vinegar solution showed white spots (I could see it on the camera screen) then biopsy. VAIN 1, HSIL
Then as Gyno Doc was finishing says you need to go back to dermatologist and have the brown spots Biopsied on vulva for melanoma. Came back benign on brown spots.
Never knew all the possible cancerous conditions. Said, See you in a year. Will be a long year
Way to direct your own healthcare!! Not great results but absolutely great that you directed the discovery. Now you can pursue the resolution. Good luck!!
