Reclast jaw pain

Posted by trishw99 @trishw99, Aug 6, 2023

I had first Reclast infusion May 2023.
Last week or two I had increased tooth sensitivity, and started using Sensodine.
Yesterday I started jaw pain and today it is swollen and sore.
I called Endo who prescribed, and waiting for a call back.
Has anyone else had this happen???
Thank you!

I had Reclast injection in April, now have gum sensitivity and aching teeth!

Hi All—an update—Endo did not think this was related to the Reclast—swelling down. I am seeing primary card tomorrow and hope for some answers.

@trishw99, @haroula, and all...I had my first of 3 annual Reclast infusions in early July 2023. I had a very serious week of reaction to the infusion, nothing allergic, but severe full-body pain and such. Since, I've had no other symptoms of anything unusual. The Endocrinologist told me it is common to have teeth, gums, and jaw issues so it is important to keep my tooth and mouth care at the best level possible. Also, do not have any invasive tooth, mouth, or jaw treatments or surgery until after the 3-year Reclast infusions.

I'm glad you seem to have missed the bullet, but we do need to stay on top of this reaction and our mouth care.

Blessings, Elizabeth

I had a Reclast infusion 8 days ago and had a VERY difficult time including going to the ER to get an IV to get rehydrated. I’ve had fevers, chills, vomiting, severe aches and joint pain for 8 days. I was treated for a UTI which is gone but the overall weakness and joint pain has continued. Prior to this I was a 72 year old, active, very healthy woman. My norm was to go on 4-6 mile difficult hikes and now I get tired walking from bed to couch. Please think carefully before you get this infusion. I will not be getting another one.

I had the first Reclast infusion on March 6 and it went well, did not experience side effects. However this morning I woke up with some pain on my right jaw which I had not experienced before. Could this be related to the Reclast from a month and a half ago?

Thank you. I am supposed to get a Reclast injection in July following two years on Forteo.

Hi janflute, please keep us posted on your July Reclast injection. I just started Forteo (1 month in) and my doctor is suggesting Reclast as followup med also. Thanks.
