Hi John. Be aware. I had it done over twenty years ago. My doctor told that it could return. And it has. My fingers are not lot claws when I first had it done. But my pinky fingers are 90 degrees to the remainder the finger and the others are bent to some degree. As long as I am able to still use my keyboard and write my name with some good penmanship, I will remain like this. I am 80 and simply do not want to go through hand therapy after shots or another surgery. With all of this said, I am not rying to deter you from treatment but to be aware.
