79 Years old prostate cancer fighter stage 3 & Gleason 9, first psa after radiation 0.38. Dr. Wants me to start abiraterone & prednisone treatment. Isn’t this a last ditch effort treatment with way too many effects? Undecided

Similar. .19 postop/ -EPE.

IMRT radiation 37 sessions targeted pelvic region and pelvic lymph nodes.

Together with 4 mos ADT Orgovyx. .

6 & 9 mos post salvage treatment uPSA undetectable less than .02

Abiraterone/Zytiga plus prednisone is not a last-ditch treatment. It kept my husband's Stage 4 prostate cancer suppressed for three years. Side effects for him were just some fatigue. Your doctor's advice sounds very sensible,
