Anyone experience pain with Y90 treatment?
My husband had the Y 90 treatment 2 1/2 weeks ago. He had nausea the first week then it went away. Then started the really sharp pain in his liver area. It usually starts in the afternoon and does not go away without taking an oxycontin. He is having a followup CT scan today. Anyone else experienced the pain for more than a few days?

How long ago was your husband diagnosed with cancer? Is the Y-90 treatment the only treatment he has had?
I had y90 both sides of the liver first side went fine just tired a lot second side 1 bead got loose and lodged between liver and stomach and caused radiation ulcer in the stomach it hurt to even drink water recovery wasn’t fun! Hopefully they figure this out soon. On the positive the treatment worked and slowed down the progression of my tumors. Good luck to your husband
@camper56, how did the CT scan go? How is your husband doing?
I have previously searched the Y90 discussions. I didn’t see a lot about the pain. He was diagnosed around March 1, 2024 and received his Y90 the end of March. He just had another CT scan because of the pain. Nothing showed up as abnormal. There was a lot of inflammation in the area of the beads which is to be expected after Y90, according to his dr. The pain, supposedly, will go away- just not fast enough!

My husband was worried about an ulcer, but I would think that it would have showed up on his CT this week. Dr didn’t see anything. How were you treated for the ulcer?
Just like regular ulcers sulcrafate! If he had ulcers he would probably know it! They hurt when you eat especially with certain foods
