What is the average age of the gentlemen on here?
good evening men. i have a group question here. i,m 57 years old and i feel that is kind of young to have prostate cancer. so my question for the men is what is the age of some of you?

Diagnosed early last year at 57. PSA was only 2.0, but climbing, All 15 biopsy samples came back hot … about half with cribiforms. Removed prostate in June, clear margins. PSA only dropped to 0.17. Has risen since to 0.75 in January, 2024. Nothing definitive on new MRI or bone scan. PET scan is tomorrow. Younger means we have more time to fight and win. It is priceless. Good luck.

1 ReactionI was diagnosed 6+ years ago at age 51 with Gleason 4+3=7. Surgery with subsequent undetectable PSA for about 10 months, then a recurrence. Then did radiation with two years of ADT. About a year later it came back and I did spot radiation at Mayo and on my last three months of 18 months of ADT. I wish I started the process at Mayo.
A good question, since all these treatments have come out in the last 10 years. Why did MLK junior and OJ Simpson die from this- wish I knew more about their stories

Operated on 2004 , Gleason 4+3, had 36 radiation treatments. No return of PSA for 6 years. Did 9 years of Lupron/Ellegard. Hated it! PSA doubled in past 5 months. Just had PSMA scan Monday. Learn results Friday.
It's just hard at times but enjoy the good times.

I was diagnosed with Gleason 3+3 in December 2021. Been on active surveillance. Just turned 71. Still on active surveillance, but will need an MRI Guided Prostate Biopsy in the next few months. It will be my 3rd Biopsy, but my 1st MRI guided one. Have had 2 MRI's and one was with 1.5 Tesla magnet resulting in a PI-RADS score of 2. Most recent MRI used a newer 3.0 Tesla magnet with a score of PI-RADS score of 3. I keep busy reading all I can on Prostate Cancer, diet, exercise, and newer treatments.
69, stage 4 one year into the journey, still rocking just not as fast
I was diagnosed in Sept 2022, at age 58. Treated with hi dose Proton radiation and ADT, in May 2023, age 59. Doing well, psa now .23. Was stage 1 intermediate, Gleason 4+3/7. Doing well enough that my Oncologist has passed me off to his PA.
