My significant other can voluntarily cause goosebumps whenever he wants to. We have tried to search for a reasons as to why this happens and we have only found in the last 100 years three studies done on it on three people so we would like to find out more possibly? Or where to go or who to call?

He tried one time to see how long he could keep the goosebumps on his body and he lasted up to five minutes, but he gets a headache instantly right afterwards and how we know he can do it voluntarily whenever he wants to. He can also do it in a hot tub And obviously hot tub full of hot water lol

Hello @aaronandamy - I combined your discussion with another discussion titled, "Voluntarily Generated Piloerection" - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/voluntarily-generated-piloerection/.

@abrahamdgreat, @adrianrcastro and @yoldone also talked about having voluntary generated piloerection. And may be able to share some of what they have learned experienced.
