Cancer in liver

Posted by digger @digger, Apr 14 7:22am

They recently have discovered a mass on my liver and a couple lymph nodes. I am currently on plovitco I am supposed to have my fourth treatment on 24 April when the doctor told me about the liver, he said they will probably stop by pluvicto treatments I go Tuesday for a biopsy but they’re pretty sure that’s what they think it is. It’s probably aggressive prostate cancer is anybody had this happen to them in any ideas of why they would stop my treatments instead of continue them while we figure out what to do with the liver thanks, Dave

That is a damn good and complicated question and probably best answered by your doctors and not the concerned lay people here. I am being treated at UCLA and when I have a question thatI am very anxious about, I email my doctor on my UCLA portal and usually get an answer back in a couple of days. Best of luck to you!

I guess it doesn’t really matter now they found a mass on my liver and a couple of lymph nodes in my under arms I was scheduled to have my fourth for pluvitco treatment the 24th of this month they’re pretty sure it’s prostate cancer just not sure if it’s aggressive or not. I had a biopsy done today to find out and they’re stopping my pluvitco treatment I can’t get an explanation why my PSA is been rising. It’s up to six point something so why not go ahead with the next treatment we found the liver mass by accident I was in PT and my oxygen dropped and they ended up taking me to the ER and did a CAT scan. That’s when they found the mass on my liver. Otherwise we would know nothing about it and I’d be getting a treatment I’m trying to get some answers after now I’ve handled the treatments with no trouble, I just don’t understand. Thanks, Dave.

@digger, I'm tagging a few people like @perrychristopher @edmond1971 @ringmastr1 and @librarygirl, who also have experience with prostate cancer metastasizing to the liver.

Dave, when are you scheduled to meet with your doctor to discuss the results of yesterday's biopsy?

Dr who did biopsy said 5-7 days for results, the cancer Dr said chemo would probably be used I was told last fall I probably won’t be able to have chemo again I was in the hospital for 7 days on oxygen they couldn’t figure out why, except I had radiation to my spine in 3 places then chemo a week later then Covid everything else checked out ,in the last month I’m having breathing problems again, they have mentioned Car T Trials so we will wait for biopsy have you heard much about this trial?,thanks Colleen

I had a 3cm spot on my liver. That reduced to 1.5cm after 6 months of ADT and now it's undetectable

I have a spot on my liver and anytime it comes up in oncology topics or other health topics, it is always seen as "the top priority of concern" and I attribute this to the importance of the liver and that other health conditions then take a lower priority.

Fortunately, on my PSMA PET there was no uptake on the liver lesion (but always remember that PSMA PET is 90% successful for PCA, there are some forms of PCA that don't play with PSMA. Choline is different from PSMA but has the same marker signal effect as a side note (that is my understanding, so don't take me for fact!)

Your team may have delayed future Pluvicto treatment to eliminate any potential adverse impacts of Pluvicto on any cancer on the liver. I think for now, ask them for a clear roadmap of what is happening next.

stay strong and keep asking questions, this is an important topic.
