Hard Fall
Well, yesterday I had a very hard fall onto a brick patio. I stayed there for a bit waiting to be rescued. When no rescue came, I got up and walked around.
I hurt all over, but no fractures. Hoping this is due to my 11 months on Evenity and the previous treatment with Tymlos and Forteo.

All due respect, I thought my 5-1/2" wrists were about as puny as they come. My Apple Watch is an "older" series, 41/42 mm size, so it works well for me. I do have to tighten the band as small as possible, tho', so I get it.
Strangely it went off as I stood up to get off the Duck. Yes, good to know it works. If I don't respond it will call my daughter, then my son in law. If they don't respond, it calls the ambulance.
Hmmm, I need to check out the functionality of the Apple - not sure it can call anyone other than 911. Thanks for the tip; that could prove to be very helpful.
Pretty sure it can. A friend has one. Her family are going overseas soon for a few weeks, so she will put my daughter on the list.
Actually, an older friend of mine said that my watch may have responded to the drop in blood pressure when I stood up. A reminder always to stand up slowly!
This is eye opening, freckle1! I did some preliminary checking and the Apple Watch does have the capability to call relatives/friends, so I’ll be setting that up right away. While I have used the heart rate, pulse ox, etc, I’ve never looked for or noticed a blood pressure setting. From what I can find, Apple doesn’t currently detect low blood pressure (possibly coming in the “near” future). I typically have low blood pressure, so the watch detection could be really helpful. Thanks for all of the great info! Cheers!
I fainted from a virus last month. My Apple watch buzzed me into consciousness and called 911. I was SO thankful to have it!!! Staples in my head, but no fractures.
Sorry to hear about your fall - yikes :(! I never thought about the watch buzzing its wearer back to consciousness. Glad you were wearing it! Expensive tech and fun, but I also consider it an investment in health and worth every penny.
I guess I could be wrong, but that buzz startled me and I went from unconscious to conscious wondering where I was, how I got on the floor and checking my body for potential breaks. Yes, worth every cent.
I noticed that it was a pretty strong vibration, so there’s a good chance it did rouse you back into consciousness. I’d never put all my faith in a tech product working every time, but these watches seem to work well, are easy to wear every day and don’t forget, they make us look so “stylin’”! Cheers!
