Anyone have mushy bowel movements?
Mushy bowel movement caused me to use about a half a roll of TP. I can then go do something strenuous and come back and use another half of TP. My doctors have suggested Metamucil or some type of psyllium. I have tried that and I keep a chart of how much I take, when I take it and my results. Occasionally, it works, but most of the time it is hit and miss. I only use the bathroom about once every three or four days. I just need something to firm me up.

Good morning rosnerwdr468edh. Following sigmoid Colectomy surgery 21 months ago, Dr.’s at Cleveland Clinic recommended Metamucil/Benefiber to bulk up stools!
Until recently, I was taking 1 glass of Metamucil and 1 scoop of Miralax in water per day. There was no bulk. Just jello like. I stopped Metamucil and that had no effect. I have now stopped Miralax and am still very mushy. Not sure why, so I welcome suggestions too. I try to include whole grains and veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, beets, carrots, etc. Had no impact on consistency.
I can relate. I’ve tried all that stuff you tried and I still have mushy stools too. Mine start out hard than normal and then mushy.
I thought Miralax was mainly for constipation. My mother was terribly constipated and always took Miralax. Do you very the amount of Metamucil you take or just take the same amount every time?
