Reputable YouTube Channels for Osteoporosis?

Posted by stacibw @stacibw, Mar 31 5:04pm

Recently diagnosed, 51 years old.

Enjoy listening to podcasts and YouTube videos. Looking for some reputable channels on osteoporosis.

You’ve directed me to Keith McCormick and osteoBoston already. Who else can I trust with up to date info?

I’m just now learning and am open to traditional medicine, functional medicine, naturopathic medicine points of view.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Hi Karen,

You just made my day! Thanks for sending your kind note and I'm glad you are feeling a bit easier about your osteoporosis. Like it was for me, once you get a good footing, it becomes less scary and more manageable.

As for exercise, John Bilezikian just tells his patients to get exercise. He doesn't even care weather it's aerobic or weight bearing. Getting your heart rate up is key to a lot of health issues. I personally ride my bike for 75 minutes three times a week and do a few weights and stretching once a week. It's easy to push off exercise but you have to do it. I see older people that are stiff, can barely walk, and can't turn their heads which keeps me motivated.

Thanks again for the note. Good luck on your journey!

Mike

@michaellavacot - I too want to say THANK YOU , and hope you continue to do read through the posts on this platform and comment as you see fit. I have to say while I’ve done a lot of learning over the past little over a year, your presentation with the graphs etc makes things easier to understand and see. I immediate sent your link to someone that initially was in Fozamax for a number of years and then was started on Prolia , and has been on that a number of years. I was excited to share this info with her. She has not been doing the digging I’ve done , but feel your presentation will be very understandable for her- or anyone that’s interested and curious! Definately will help those so they can have better conversations with their endocrinologists and be a part of determining your own personal path.
THANKS AGAIN!!
