I was an active competitive tennis player. Many tournaments. I had at least 3-4 miniscus tears repaired and cleaned. I’ve had a TKR 10 years ago that has given me a hard time. About a year ago, I started having pain, swelling and what seemed to be, my knee getting out of socket with severe pain. After a little wiggling I could get it back in place. It kept getting worse to wear I was not able to stand for longer than an hour. I’ve been active all my lift. My surgeon said x-ray indicated my plastic piece between the metal where my knee bends was disintegrating. Also the entire replacement was turned inside. Recommend a Revision. That is my RIGHT knee. Several years ago I had a complete tear on my LEFT knee. I was unable to get surgery or PT. It has healed on its own and doesn’t hurt at all. It’s not as strong but no pain. After my R knee was done I continued playing tournament tennis. I’m assuming that is why my Right TKR failed. I want to know how hard this revision will be and how long it will take to be able get around comfortably again. I’ve been told that it’s a twice as long surgery and rehab. Someone please let me know what to expect. I’m 60 years old.
Thanks for any help!
