Hi all, I have a problem and a question; Lets say I have some malabsorption/malnutrition issues for the last year and a half (still not officially diagnosed)...but those are my thoughts based on the infos i read on the internet. Sudden weight loss after blood donation (8kilos in 3 weks) , extremely dry, pale, flaky cold skin, vertical nail ridges, mushy stools mostly mornings or diarrhea, hair falling all over body (legs, eyebrows, pubic hair), bleeding from gums, swollen scalopped tongue with white coating, sunken eyes and so on...recurrent infections like im having respiratory colds often...and they last like for a month.. I even lost facial fat and fullness of my face like that lipoatrophied HIV positive ppl. (I dont have HIV btw). Joints cracking and poping...no pain. Im gaining weight only on my abdomen but losing fat deposits everywhere else, maybe even muscle tissue, cant tell. So its either malnurishement or some of those issues like SIBO or BAM fat malabsorption or carb malabsorption + nutrient malabsorption...or Whipple's maybe? Got tested for celiacs, blood draw tTIga, negative.Parasitic stool tests negative, porfirine test ok, fecal elastase test ok. ANA tests negative, RF negative. Gastroscopy ok,colonscopy ok, transabdominal ultrasound ok, MRI of abdomen ok, enterography ok, MSCT with dye ok...you name it...
Ive been eating very bad food for a quite a time, like only junk food like hot dogs and stuff like that, not too many vegetables and fruits...usually food with high calories but without nutritional value + Ive been donating blood every 3 months...is it possible that i got my body to the point of malnutrition? Cuz i even got anemic (iron deficient) dark circles around eyes, but ive managed to correct that with iron pills... And since starting of symptoms ive been having elevated lipid levels and uric acid....and i have a bit of polyclonal elevation of IGA levels...4.37
Its like im having a cachexia....:/
any insights anyone??

Speaking as a former Oncology and Hospice RN, it is a precious and rare gift to infants, children and your community at large that you give blood regularly. On the other hand, the quality of your donations is being placed at risk d/t your declining health markers.

I, too, was a regular blood donor for a period of years until the medications I needed to take interfered with the donation protocols.

I cannot stress enough that your first responsibility is to yourself! To that end, a visit to your doctor vs. establishing care with a doctor of your choice will reward you with information about your personal health that you’ll need in order to take good care of yourself in order to live a long and healthy life.

Perhaps if you nourish your body with good healthy food you will see some positive changes. We need to support our bodies to maintain healthy organs and body functions. Best of luck to you. Hoping you can regain a healthy body.
