What is the benefit of Lupron injections with pre menopause women and triple negative breast cancer?

Hi @dorothysheldon ,

I was 38, pre-menopausal had just had a baby, and triple negative and received the monthly Lupron shots.

The idea is to kind of freeze your reproductive system so it doesn't get as damaged from the chemo.

My cycles did start up again after chemo and radiation. I'm now 42 and have started perimenopause, but I had a year of good cycles, and this feels more like a natual winding down.

I can't speak to how well it works for fertility - we didn't have time to delay treatment for IVF, and after all the treatments we chose not to have any more natural births, given how old I am and just the general amount of stress my first labor was.
